Further when I see it through to a bank transfer, there is no place for the purchaser to enter their details, it defaults to the attendee. Can i change this

Sounds like you don’t currently have any question groups selected for ‘Additional Registrants’ within your event.
You need to enable at least the ‘Personal Information’ question group for additional registrant on the event for it to request the details for each ticket. It’s the bottom section shown here – http://take.ms/1CBvc
Check the bottom ‘Person Information’ checkbox and update the event, then retest, does is not request the questions you need it to?

Using the offline ‘Bank’ payment method that comes with Event Espresso?
If so you currently can’t change it to request details, the payment method displays the bank details you have set within the payment method for the user to make a payment but it does not request details.
