I am trying to create a two-day event with multiple date-times and different ticket options per date-time. For example on Saturday 3/21 we will have 24 different possible start times (every 20 minutes from 8am – 5pm), then in each of these date times the customer has the option to buy one of three tickets at different prices. Each date-time will have a limit of 40 tickets being sold.
I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to do this for days, is it even possible with Event Espresso? The only thing I could think of was create a ticket for each possibility, but that is 2 days multiplied by 24 slots multiplied by 3 ticket prices which is 144 tickets. Whenever I try to do that I get the following error:
The number of inputs on this page has been exceeded. You cannot add anymore items (i.e. tickets, datetimes, custom fields) on this page because of your servers PHP “max_input_vars” setting
I updated to the newest version of Event Espresso and still have the error. Is there a better way I should be doing that. I feel like this is a common way to sell tickets and there must be an easier way than entering 144 different tickets manually.
Also, I want to have the prices change (get more expensive) the closer we get to the event – going up $10/week. If I need to do that manually I guess I’ll have no choice, but if it were possible to be automatic that would really help.
I see other software can handle all of these requirements, but since I already purchased Event Espresso I would rather use this – I got the impression we could do this from the website’s “features” and “add ons” section before I bought it.
You have way too many ticket options for one “event”. If I were you, I’d create a single event for each datetime, with the three or four ticket options.
Then you can have one page that lists all the events or datetimes with links to each “datetime” which is actually a separate event. That way you don’t overwhelm the user.
But if you expect people to be able to purchase tickets for more than one datetime/event, they will have to do it in a separate purchase.
Does that help a little?
