I am planning a “summer camp” event and would like some guidance on how to set it up.

At my event, there will be two different options for various levels of accommodations. Looks like this:

I’ve tried playing with the DateTime features, but it’s not really clear to me how this can be of use here. From a pricing perspective, it’s really quite easy. An attendee will need to purchase either an overnight pass or a weekend pass, and then they need to select (and be charged for) the level of accommodations they want, ie bunk, or cottage.

Unique charges would look like this:

Overnight Pass (Includes camping) – $80
Weekend Pass (Includes camping) – $110

Overnight Bunk – $40
Weekend Bunk – $72
Overnight Cottage – $60
Weekend Cottage – $108

So if I wanted an overnight pass only it would be $80
If I wanted an overnight pass and a bunk, it would be $120 ($80 + $40)

I hope this is making sense. Any advise you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Joseph,

To set that up within Event Espresso you would need to create multiple tickets that include both the pass and the additional fee, for example:

Overnight Pass (Includes camping) = $80
Overnight Pass (Includes camping) + Overnight Bunk = $120
Overnight Pass (Includes camping) + Overnight Cottage = $140

Weekend Pass (Includes camping) = $110
Weekend Pass (Includes camping) + Weekend Bunk = $182
Weekend Pass (Includes camping) + Weekend Cottage = $218

The user then selects the qty of each different ticket type the need and continues through the registration. You can setup individual datetimes for each of those tickets or use the ticket limit on each individual ticket to limit registrations.

For example if had a limit of 10 on just the weekend pass, if 10 people buy just the pass is the weekend cottage is still available for others?

That was my idea as well, but this DateTime function is a bit of a mystery to me. I would at very least expect that ticket types assigned to a specific DateTime would be listed with that DateTime. Not just listed with all the others. As a user I would not be able to make heads or tails of this. Even the required tickets are listed together! That just doesn’t make any sense and has me wondering if there might be an issue with the code.

I’ve set this up as a test:

Thanks again!

No issue with the code, what you have is currently the expected output.

Tickets are not listed under datetimes they are all listed within the ticket selector, the datetimes are instances of the event and are listed in a group.

If you have 2 required tickets within an event you are stating that BOTH of those ticket should be purchase which does not appear to be what you need.

If you need both those 2 ticket groups to have a required ticket of their own you will need to separate those out into 2 events, one for Overnight and another for Weekend stays.
