Hi Guys, I read the now closed request for multiple paypal accounts that was available in EE3, and so far has been excluded from EE4. If I had been aware that this was not going to be supported in EE4, I probably would have stayed with EE3. But I’m now on EE4 and loving it, so what is the latest update on supporting additional Paypal accounts other than the default? We run several events, and few are for payment to the same paypal account. Different departments have their own payment accounts. I doubt that this is a unique request, and imagine several businesses are in the same predicament. Allowing payment method per event, if not multiple payment methods per event, like a conventional retail store, Would give the customer options. I’m surprised that this was not in the specs for EE4 from the beginning, and certainly you will need this for ‘Event Smart’? What is the current status of this option, is it no longer possible to do a work around similar to EE3, or is the workaround to degrade back to EE3? Is there a conversion tool available to convert an EE4 database back to EE3 format etc? Thanks for your continued excellent support. |
Hi, Event Espresso 4 does not support sending payments to multiple PayPal merchant accounts. I’ve just double-checked with a developer. There isn’t a conversion tool for moving from Event Espresso 4 to Event Espresso 3. The codebase is different and data is stored in different database tables. There are some recommendations here: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/54f16f0ccd274e311648 — |

Lorenzo, thanks for your prompt response. Do you know why this was omitted from the features of EE4, and whether there is a plan to provide this capability? I believe there is a demand for it, and was used in EE3, not sure by how many. I believe it will be required for “Event Smart”? Looks like going back to EE3 is not really a viable option, is it possible to host multiple copies of EE4 with a single license as a temporary work around? Do you have a scheme for users to vote on features which would effect development priorities? To clarify the request, it’s to support payment methods on an event basis, rather than a domain basis. Could be Paypal for one event, and a different payment types for a different event, not necessarily just Paypal. Thanks |
Hi, we currently share feedback with the development team based on feedback that we receive in the support forums. This helps the development team prioritize features that are added. With that mentioned, some features require a significant amount of coding while others require less and at any time, the developers are working on various areas of the project including fixing bugs in the core, introducing new features as well as working on new add-ons. We are aware of this feature request but I do not have an estimate on when it will become available. — |

I was just checking up in the forums about updates to this exact feature request. I would like to say that we’re one of those businesses that would also like to see this implemented. We currently use multi-site with EE4 as a workaround, but each new site and their form(s) requires time to set up. Much time and hassle would be saved if this was implemented like it was with EE3. |
