I’m trying to use the following code with an image as a button `[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK anchor=” ” direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]`. I’m using the directions posted on the Multiple Events Registration – Use ‘Add to Cart’ link instead of default registration form but no matter what I try, the code only displays a link saying “Register” and not the image I have url I have inserted. What am I doing wrong? I’m putting the code in the html/text section and not the visual section.

I have even tried this code [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK anchor="" direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart="Redirecting to cart..."] – which is code I found on the same page, in the last image showing the code inserted in the html section of wordpress. So, I’m racking my brain as to why this isn’t working and showing my image like it should. This is soooo frustrating. I cannot seem to get the smallest of things to work when it comes to this plugin. I’ve never had this much trouble setting up a plugin. I’m finding that your documentation sometimes has invalid links or links to old material that isn’t relevant, as well as being contradictory in many cases. I understand that is going to happen sometimes but if I’m noticing it alot – there is alot of data/info out there that needs correcting. And this out of date info, causes me to waste alot of my time! Honestly, I’m VERY FRUSTRATED! And I’d appreciate some help getting this taken care of asap!

Hi Audrea,

I am very sorry that the documentation was wrong, the team and I do try and keep it relevant and error free. If you do spot an error or find something that doesnt seem correct, please let me know, and I can get it fixed.

Regarding the shortcode, I have updated the code there, it was using two sets of double quotes which messed it up

This is the correct version, notice how the anchor=’ ‘ instead of anchor=” ”

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK anchor='<img src="http://path.to.your/img.jpg" alt="Register for this Event" />' direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart="Redirecting to cart..."]

Thank You. That one worked.

Well, it DID WORK… Then I noticed that the “View Cart” link was back instead again… So, I re-entered the code you entered above again, over and over and it still wouldn’t work. Then I noticed that after I hit “update event”, the code is getting changed. I have included two images the first image shows what I enter, then the second image is after I hit update.

Hey,

Thats weird, there should be no reason for it to revert as it’s just text.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level.

Hey Dean. I sent my admin info to you. The only thing that I can think of on my end was that I did add some CSS Code in my Child Theme Stylesheet that was suggested on this documentation page. Could that have anything to do with this? I cannot find anything in that code that would relate to the cart or an image linking to shortcode…

I had linked the documentation page in my above post but it didn’t post with the link for some reason. Here is that page: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/basic-styling-with-css-of-the-registration-form/

Hi Audrea,

I had no issues with using that code in a Test event on your site. I can only think it may have been a fluke that it reset, maybe the backspace key was accidentally hit or something.

I removed the test event, but here is what showed up http://d.pr/i/pykr (second image is correctly broken)

I’m confused by your answer… I understand that you don’t think that the css code I added was causing the issue. But I didn’t understand this part:

I can only think it may have been a fluke that it reset, maybe the backspace key was accidentally hit or something.
I removed the test event, but here is what showed up http://d.pr/i/pykr (second image is correctly broken)

What did you mean by it was a fluke? And in the test event, the second image was broken but why? What was the differences so I don’t make that mistake again? Sorry, I’m just confused about what the exact problem was…

Hi Audrea,

What I mean is that I cannot replicate the issue, so I can only conclude that it was either a key pressing accident or something similar. I tried several times to break it but failed.

The second image was broken because I used an invalid url/link (it was trying to link to an image on my test server but unable to get there, which is why it broke. So it can be ignored.

Are you still having trouble adding the code into an event?
