Hi.
We will be developing a new site, so all new versions of everything.
We are having a Santa Clause event, with 10 santa’s and a train journey to get to the santas’ with 72 seats. This will run everyday for 32 days, form 9am – 9pm, with time-slots 10 minutes apart…(this is beginning to sound like a math question :-))..
1. We want to be able to sell tickets for every 10 minute time slot, to no more than 10 groups/families, because we have 10 santa’s and no more than 72 tickets in total, for that time-slot, because of the train. So someone can select there preferred day, then time on that day for there group/family, and then quantity of tickets for adults and children..
2. Also, if they require more tickets, they can log in and purchase more tickets but respecting the 72 total for there time-slot.
If this is not possible, out of the box, do you feel that we could get EE modified to do this and approximate cost involved.

Hi Paul,
If I understood the maths correctly I think that EE4 can do this. Basically you would create an event per day (maybe 2 – AM and PM just to break the numbers down) and create a ticket per time slot. Each ticket can have a maximum capacity and the group size can also be set.
The only issue is you will have a lot of tickets to choose from. Something like this http://take.ms/DfEVJ

Thanks for getting back to me.
Just to clarify, for each 10 min time slot, I can assign 10 groups/families to that time slot and also 72 tickets..? So if 10 groups/families purchase 2 adults and 2 child tickets, total of 40 tickets, that time slot will be sold out, respecting the 10 group policy, also, if just 4 groups/families buy tickets for 18 people per group/family, total 72 tickets, the time slot is sold out, respecting the maximum amount of tickets for that time slot..?

Hi Paul,
We did a little digging into this and whilst Event Espresso 4 can handle the ticket limits perfectly fine, the Group limits we currently do not have any options for so in effect you could have 36 ‘group’ registrations if each group purchased only 2 tickets.
It is possible to do but would require custom development in order for the limits to works as requested.
