Each time a guest purchases tickets on our website, we and the guest receive about 20 confirmation emails as follow up. How do I correct this for our site? Thanks! |

Hello, It is likely an issue with the PayPal IPN. Can you firstly check to see if you have Force HTTPS turned on in the Event Espresso > Payment Settings > Paypal page in your WordPress Dashboard please. If that is not on then its down to troubleshooting the issue further. You could try using a thirdparty service such as the WP Mail SMTP plugin or a service like Mandrill or Postmarkapp. These services help your site by taking over the email functionality. I would advise you to read through this forum thread here https://eventespresso.com/topic/multiple-confirmation-emails/ |

Hi Dean, I checked the Payment Settings > Paypal page and it looks like the IPN is activated. There is a red bar at the top that gives the options to Deactivate the Paypal IPN? I don’t see any options for forcing the HTTPS on this page, so I’m not sure what your direction is there. Please advise. Thanks – |

Hi, Both PayPal and PayPal Pro have the force HTTPS option – http://d.pr/i/9NDr What version of Event Espresso are you using? |
|
I have EE version 3.1.33 (just installed within the last 2 months). Double-checked my PayPal options in the EE Payment Settings > PayPal path and do not have the Force HTTPS checkbox option. |
Hi there, Can you check to see if the Notify URL page is published and has the [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] shortcode? By default it would be something like yoursite.com/transactions. The Event Espresso > System status page will have this page listed. Please see this guide for more troubleshooting steps: |

The notify URL page is published, but I did have it set as private. I have it listed under the Purchase Tickets page because I do not want it as it’s own tab on the website. Now if you go to the website: greenvillebrewtours.com and click on the Purchase Tickets > Transactions tab the following message appears: An error occurred. No ID or invalid ID was supplied. This is not something that I want our guests to see when visiting the website. What are my options? I did also go into PayPal and add the below URL to the IPN Settings: settings:http://greenvillebrewtours.com/purchase-tickets/transactions/ |
|
The page does also have the correct shortcode that you have listed above. |
Hi there, We do not recommend nesting the transactions, thank-you, or registration cancelled pages under the main registration page. You can go into the WordPress> Appearance menu and set up a custom menu so that the Transactions, cancelled registration, and thank-you pages are not included in the website’s navigation. Alternatively you can use the Exclude pages from navigation plugin to accomplish the same. Please see this section of the documentation for more info: |

Got it! For anyone that may read this thread in the future, I implemented the following: Now, my final question is – the guests that registered prior to doing this update are still receiving confirmation emails. Is there a way for me to stop those emails from going out? |
You might try turning off the IPN feature in your PayPal account for a few minutes, then turn it back on again. |
