My question is whether or not I will break everything if I deactivate the wp users event espresso addon. I want people to continue to be able to purchase tickets, but do not need them to login first, and don’t care about it auto-filling forms etc. I do currently have users that have been created using the plugin. What happens if I deactivate it? I need to be able to comp tickets purchasing tickets as various people with a 100% off comp code. We want to do this in office vs giving code to ticket recipient so as not to have to create multiple 1 time use codes. If I try a purchase for someone already in user database it wants me to login as them, which I cannot do as I don’t have their password. How should I proceed?
Deactivating the add-on will not break everything 🙂
You will lose the functionality of the plugin in that, the login requirement, ticket capability, ‘My Events’ sections etc will no longer function but registrations etc will work as normal.
New registrations won’t be ‘linked’ to the WP User account but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are broken.
If you don’t need the functionality of the WP User integration add-on then disabling it should not cause you any issues at all.
