We want to be able to collect data from registrants in two stages.
On registration/purchase, we want t collect the basics, name email address, phone etc.
Once a registration is approved, we’d like to email confirmation and at the same time get registrants to provide additional data in another Question Group.
Any tips or suggestions would be gratefully received.
It can be done, but only in a full batch for all registrants, for example, you could collect say 10 registrations and then assign the additional question group to the event and send the emails to all 10 registrations to collect the additional info.
EE will display the question groups assigned to the event at the time of registration/editing the registration, it sounds like you want EE to only display a question group if they ‘edit’ the registration (using a link in the email).
Would it work if you hide the additional question group on the initial registration with CSS and then display it on the edit? (I’ll need to double check this is possible but I’m pretty sure it is)
The fields cannot be set as required if you use that method as on the initial registration they won’t be available to provide a value.
