Hey, I have received the following message on the last couple of updates, and previously manually updated from the download in my account. However as you can imagine it is a bit annoying! An automatic update for Event Espresso – MER – Multi Event Registration (EE 4.7.0+) is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Please could you advise a fix at all? |
Hi Annie, I checked into your account and can’t see any reason for this. I have reset your license key, please go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. Remove the key, save the settings with a blank field, copy the key from your account page (check for whitespace before/after) then re-save the settings. That will re-assign your license key to your domain. If you have further problems please let me know. |

Hi thank you for your help, unfortunately it didn’t do the trick. I tried updating from the dashboard update page this time and I get a message that relates to updating some files related to the theme we are using, is it possible there could be some conflict with the theme? |
Possibly yes, what theme is it? |
|
|
Divi by Elegant Themes, although the error seems to be more aimed at a related Elegant Themes plugin (not actually a theme file) that we no longer have access to. |
It sounds like the Elegant Themes Plugin is hijacking the update. Can you post the full error please? |

On the update page I get this message: “A new version of Event Espresso – MER – Multi Event Registration (EE 4.7.0+) available. View What’s New with version 2.0.3.p. A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. The key you have entered is invalid or has expired. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.” When I try to update via the dashboard > updates page I get this: An error occurred while updating Event Espresso – MER – Multi Event Registration (EE 4.7.0+): Before you can update your Elegant Themes, you must first install the Elegant Updater Plugin to authenticate your subscription. Obviously completely unrelated, all the other updates run fine. |
You might be able to run the update if you temporarily switch to another theme, or you can manually update by deactivate, delete the old version of MER, then upload a copy you download from your account page. |

I know I can manually update, but it’s something I shouldn’t really have to go through. I tried updating on a different theme and got this error message instead: An error occurred while updating Event Espresso – MER – Multi Event Registration (EE 4.7.0+): Update package not available. |
Can you try resaving the Event Espresso > General Settings while the Elegant theme is disabled, then try the update? |

Sadly I got the same result as before |
We can investigate further if you can send log in credentials via the contact form on this page: |
