Multi-attendee registration – where/how???

I purchased the personal license after communicating with Lorenzo and looking over the features online. I appreciated the responsiveness of Lorenzo, Garth, and Seth very much!
Based on my email string and what I read on your page, I was lead to believe that the platform supported multi-attendee registration and that this was part of the standard personal license. Is this not the case?

I’ve put quite a bit of time into figuring out Event Espresso, and it’s going to be a really big issue if this platform doesn’t support Multi-attendee registration without an additional purchase of something. It should be a part of the functionality. If it is, and I just can’t figure it out – my apologies. This plugin already isn’t very friendly for non-developers… and I’m finding myself very frustrated at the moment. Please help!

Thanks.

To clarify my specific challenge – we have a golf event as a fundraiser for our charity supporting people with developmental disabilities. Some golf tickets include 8 golfers, some include 4 golfers, one includes 2 golfers, and one ticket type includes 1 golfer.

If someone buys a ticket that includes 8 golfers, I need them to be able to enter 8 names. If someone buys a ticket that includes 4 golfers, I need them to be able to register only 4 names.

Thanks.

Hi NCCH,

Event Espresso 4 absolutely supports Multi-Attendee registration, no smoke and mirrors here!

It sounds like maybe you need to set the question settings in the event editor. Here’s a link to the documentation that shows how:

I apologize if I’m missing something! I’ve seen those registration questions. What your FAQ/documentation doesn’t cover is what you have to put in where to build multi-attendee registration.

Looking at it, maybe I’m dumb…. I don’t see how I set the max number of additional attendees for a ticket. Or is it that as I build it, I just keep adding questions?

Sorry that it isn’t intuitive for me :/

I’m sorry for the trouble.

When you set up your tickets, they will look very similar to the screenshots in this documentation:

Here’s the issue, in case I didn’t explain it well.

I have different ticket levels for our golf outing.

There is a “ticket” (actually a sponsorship) that costs $3000. That ticket needs 4 attendees listed.
A different “ticket” (also a sponsorship) that costs $1,500. That ticket needs 2 attendees listed.

Now the issue is that in order to have those additional attendees show up, someone would have to purchase 4 of the $3k ticket. Well, that doesn’t work because that is $12,000 – and they’d then get 12 attendees.

I can’t set the ticket price for the above sponsorships at something else, because it’s a sponsorship PACKAGE – it’s all or nothing, so someone can’t pay $750 to get half the stuff.

SO – HOW do I set the number of attendees that are on a SINGLE ticket? This functionality Has to exist…. I just don’t know how to access it.

Please help!

Hey – sorry I didn’t see your earlier message back. Yes – the bundle thing does work. Not perfectly… it’s a little inelegant.

How do I change the shortcode or whatever so it doesn’t list it as “Qty” and instead has “Ppl” or “Attendee”.

I’m very concerned that people will freak out because they think they’re spending $12K, not $3k.

Also is there shortcode or anything, so I can remove the word “bundle” after each ticket (or replace it with package). Again – I’d like the anguage to reflect our event and not look weird.

Thanks!!!

In short, you cant as 1 ticket == 1 attendee.

You can’t have a single ticket for multiple attendees and still log attendee numbers, you need to use a ticket bundle for what you are trying to do.

How do I change the shortcode or whatever so it doesn’t list it as “Qty” and instead has “Ppl” or “Attendee”.

Theres no shortcode to do what you are asking for, but it can be done with a snippet of code. I can provide an example if you let me know what text you want to use in place of Qty.

Also is there shortcode or anything, so I can remove the word “bundle” after each ticket (or replace it with package). Again – I’d like the anguage to reflect our event and not look weird.

Theres no shortcodes for those types of changes, but again it can be done with a snippet of code.

Here is an example that change QTY to Ppl and Bundle to Package:

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have a guide on creating one here:
