Good Day,

I do not want to make the people checking attendees in on their phone, to be an event Admin. One might try get clever and login to the website and manipulate info.

What is the best practice for this?

Do I use the ‘Staff’ role?

You can create a custom role and assign that role the capabilities listed in the documentation:
