Hi EventEspresso Support team,
I’m having the issue, that the confirmation emails are mixed up for the primary attendee and the other registrants. I double checked, that the email addresses in the message context are correct and also checked the content of the messages, so that I use the correct short code for addressing the primary attendee and other recipients. Nevertheless, the primary attendee get’s emails intended for the other recipients and the recipients doesn’t get any emails. Can you please help me to resolve that.
Thanks a lot and best regards!

Hi there,

Which message template are you looking into?

The Primary Recipient will receive the both the ‘Primary Registrant’ and ‘Registrant’ context’s if they are both active on any specific message type.

Is there a test event I can run registrations on?

Hey Tony,
Thanks a lot for your answer. I’m using the standard registration confirmation email message template. Would it help, if I give you access to the system? I can’t post the credentials into the forum, but I can send them to you privately.
Best regards!

Sure, but they may be un-needed if there is a test event I can run registrations on?

To send login details you can use this form:

Hi Tony,
Thanks a lot. The registration is for members only, so you need the credentials. I will post them in an instant.

I ran a test registration on your site and the emails are working as expected for your setup.

The registration approved message template has the Primary Registrant AND Registrant templates enabled which means for a group registration of 3 tickets, 4 emails will be sent.

1 for the Primary registrant, then 1 each for the Registrants (which ALSO includes the Primary Registrant) – http://take.ms/hmUFp

Do you just want the Registrant emails to be sent and not the Primary Registrant one?

Hi Tony,
Thanks a lot for testing it. Now please resend the registration confirmation on the “Meine Anlässe” page by pressing on the envelope icon. Then you will get those many emails.
Is there a way to only send the primary registrant the primary registrant email and NOT the registrant email, but the other registrants will get the registrant email?

Which many emails?

I’ll resend the message but I’m not sure what you are referring to.

Is there a way to only send the primary registrant the primary registrant email and NOT the registrant email, but the other registrants will get the registrant email?

Not currently, they are still a registrant but the Primary Registrant email would be intended to contain any additional information that should only go to the Primary.

Hi Tony,
Sorry, wrong ticket. I was referring to https://eventespresso.com/topic/too-many-notification-emails/#post-218286 Can you test that too? Or must Josh test that?

I can take a look.

However because the account I’m using has a different email address than what I am using for the registrations the registrations are not linked to the account, meaning I don’t see any registrations within “Meine Anlässe”.

Hi Tony,
Thanks. Shall I send you my account to test, so that it’s linked to “Meine Anlässe”?

I can use the current account if its ok to change the details?

Just to confirm, this only happens when using the resend button within My Events? Not when registering or when the admin re-send the email from the registrations list or any other section?

Hi Tony,
Sure, you can change the details to whatever you want. Just let me know the details later on, so that I can then find the appropriate account.
I only tested it on the resend button on My Events, I didn’t check the admin section. I don’t get the multiple emails on registration. You can also test the admin resend function, if that helps.

Josh updated your other thread for this here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/too-many-notification-emails/#post-218491

I’ve added this here for any future readers.

Lets keep the multiple notifications issue within the above thread to save cross posting between ourselves.

Did you fix the issue with the Primary registrant emails?
