Is it possible to setup an event that requires a minimum amount of attendees and if the minimum number is not reached within a certain period (i.e. 3 weeks) the event is canceled.
What are my options to achieve this kind of scenario?
EE does not currently provide and automated method for this.
One way to set this up is to create the event and set the Default Registration Status to ‘Not Approved’ (this section – http://take.ms/UGECC)
Users can then register onto the event to show interest but will not be billed for the ticket at that time. The admin would need to check in on the event and then once the event was confirmed to have enough interest you can change the registration status of all of the registrations to ‘Pending Payment’ and trigger emails to inform the users they need to pay for the event.
That way you do not need to deal with refunding the attendees that did register for the event that was then cancelled (as they haven’t paid yet).
Thanks, I guess that could work. It is the event managers duty to check those events and change the status accordingly.
Maybe I will write a small custom code for this. Thanks.
