Hi

We have wordpress and EE install on NEXUS WordPress hosting and have some 54000 users that can login to purchase tickets.

I was wondering why it takes nearly 16seconds to load the ADMIN area of EE to show a list of 20 registrations.

Could you advise what and where i should be looking to speed this up as it is becoming unusable for the ADMINS to manage the site.

We have REDIS cache running

and what would your recommended PHP and MySQL setup be if I were to move onto a dedicated VPS solution with MYSQL on a dedicated VPS as well.

Hi

That does not give me much I was more after how many CPUS, Ram for the Webserver and what you recommend for the MYSQL server, not a min requirement server.

Hi there,

The details you are looking for will be unique to your use case and very much depend on the site setup, plugins and theme in use etc. Your event, pricing and registration questions will also change this as more questions will require more queries, so I can’t give you a recommendation based on what we know so far.

However, with most hosting, you can scale the number of cores/resources on the fly, so my recommendation generally is to start with the lowest you think you will need/the host offers and then update if needed.

What I can tell you is a run multiple test sites on various types of hosting and on my cheapest shared hosting package (which I test against regularly as thats what many users opt to use) it loads the registrations list table in batches of 50, which takes around 7s to completely load the page with a query time of less than 500ms.

Have you tried running a plugin such as query monitor to get an overview of what is going on with the page?
