First of all big thanks to EE. I have been running it on a client’s website for the last 4 years, and have had many compliments from users about how easy it is.
I have a question about migrating, archiving, and upgrading. On the site floglassblowing.ca there is an install of EE3 with calendar. This site has 1000s of events going back to 2009. Is there a workflow you could recommend through wp-admin or phpmyadmin to remove all events and transactions prior to 2015? Then what I will do is migrate the site to a new server.
At that point I would like some help assessing if a move to EE4 is worth the effort, and how much time is involved. Do you have instructions for migrating EE3 to EE4? The addons I need are Calendar, Multiple Event Reg, Recurring Events, and Mailchimp.
I don’t recommend removing information via PHPMyAdmin as information in Event Espresso is stored in native WordPress database tables along with its own custom DB tables. Errant or missing information could cause the migration from Event Espresso 3 to Event Espresso 4 to fail.
Although this will take some time, I would filter by month/year and then select all and delete (adjust the rows option to show more than 50): http://cl.ly/image/0c1x0v0V3b3G
Then filter again by event status of deleted and then check all and permanently delete:
