I am working for a client currently using Event Espresso using PayPal IPN Payments on a live site and I need to migrate to PayPal Payments Pro. I have a couple of questions on this process:
As this is a live site, is there any way of enabling Payments Pro in a ‘testing’ mode which is not accessible to the public whilst keeping IPN Payments operational so I can test, modify templates, etc.?
Is it possible to use a PayPal ‘sandbox’ account on the Pro gateway whilst keeping the IPN gateway operational?

You can use Paypal Payments Pro (PPP) in sandbox mode, but this will be visible to all visitors that are currently registering onto the event. There currently is no way to hide the gateway to be displayed only to the admin.

Paypal Payments Pro and Paypal Standard are different gateways in terms of Event Espresso. Enabling PPP will not effect Paypal Standard on your site. However it will depend on your Paypal account (if trying to use the same account for both?), I’m not sure if you can have Paypal Standard IPN and Paypal Pro active on the same account at the same time.
Another member of support may know more or you may want to contact Paypal to confirm.
Hope that helps.
