I have been helping someone rebuild and relaunch their website. The site has current EE4 licenses for both the old site and the new install. My developer moved the tables and it’s it working, of course.
Is this post from 2015 is still the definitive word, or is there now a better way to update WordPress files?

Thanks for any new advice you can give.

Yes, the Event Espresso data is also within the WordPress wp_posts table so your developer will need to be sure to migrate over the events, venues, attendees from the wp_post table.

A simpler approach may be to use the WordPress export tool to export the new posts/pages onto the desired site. Then delete the old posts/pages, leaving all of the Event Espresso data intact.
