We ran the update from 3 to 4 and our custom email messages from 3 aren’t showing up in anywhere in 4 (not in Custom Message Templates and no longer associated with the events as they were in 4). Did we miss a step?

How are you today?
The Messages and Custom Emails system between EE3 and EE4 are very different. The emails do not migrate over. It is advised in this document that you copy the text from your custom emails to a text file so you can reuse some of that information in EE4.

You could deactivate EE4 and then re-activate EE3 to get that information, and then deactivate EE3 and re-activate EE4.
