Ever since I’ve updated EE4 to 4.9.23, all messages/emails are being queued (not generated) and I have to manually generate and send them.

Hi there,

Your web server may have wp_cron() disabled, in which case, you can change your message settings to Send messages on same request. This setting is in Event Espresso > Messages > Message settings.

Is there a way to check if wp_cron is disabled?

I’m not aware of a sure-fire way to check, but this is a popular article that shows how to disable wp_cron() :

Hi,

You say that wp_cron() may be disabled. I doubt it as it was working before.

Any other ideas?

Hi

I have also set up a cron job directly on cPanel to execute wp-cron.php every 5 minutes but this still has no effect.

Have you changed your message settings to Send messages on same request? That’s the setting in Event Espresso > Messages > Message settings.
