We have a former staffer who has his email address in the test messages area (sidebar) of the custom messages area. Despite changing this email and saving the custom message multiple times, every time we go in there, it’s his email in there, not the one we’ve changed it to. So we cannot test messages without this going to a former staffer’s personal email!
Just to confirm, do you mean the ‘Send a test email to *:’ field in the ‘Extra Actions’ metabox?
The value of that field is set when you click the ‘Test send’ button and EE sends a test email rather than saving the template so to change it, set the field and click to send a test email. However, this part:
So we cannot test messages without this going to a former staffer’s personal email!
Doesn’t really fit with that field as it is only used when you click the test send button, which I assume you would be doing if sending a test email and if thats the case, likely changed the field anyway?
Tony, we are sending test messages – however every single time we send a test, we have to update this as it’s saved that former staffer’s email across every custom email we’ve set up! Is there a way to either just remove this altogether, or get it to save another email as default? I think it’s just not saving the test send email we’re using (we change it each time.)
If it happens again please do let us know and we can help debug a little further.
