My event registration emails stopped sending about 2 months ago and are now just in the waiting to be sent queue. When I press send immediately on any of them, I get this message “An error has occurred:
No message was sent because of problems with sending. Either all the messages you selected were not a sendable message, they were ALREADY sent on a different scheduled task, or there was an error. If there was an error, you can look at the messages in the message activity list table for any error messages.”

I haven’t changed any settings and am getting other WordPress notifications from my site.

The error messages says to look at the Messages Activity list table for any errors. Are there errors reported there?

I’d also looking at the Event Espresso > Messages > Settings tab, and see if the messages are sent to send on the same or separate request. I recommend testing it when it’s set to send on the same request. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/wp-cron-and-event-espresso/

There are no errors in the activity list table. It is set to send on separate. I can change it to sent on the same request, but I haven’t changed the settings and so it makes no sense that it would all of a sudden stop working.

When you use the option to send on a separate request the message system relies on WP_CRON to function.

So if there is an issue with WP Cron (which can happen due to issues with the server or another plugin for example) it then stops message sending. Meaning that although you may not have changed settings, WP Cron can still run into issue.

However, this error:

No message was sent because of problems with sending. Either all the messages you selected were not a sendable message, they were ALREADY sent on a different scheduled task, or there was an error. If there was an error, you can look at the messages in the message activity list table for any error messages.

Can mean a message is stuck in the queue and when you try to resend that same message fails each time blocking up the queue.

Can I take a quick look over the messages sitting in the admin? If that’s ok you can send temp login details using this form:
