On my site, everything to do with ticket payment is working fine. Customers can get a copy of their paid invoice through their memberpress account. All good.
All tickets are paid with paypal. The ticket message gets sent no problem, The payment received message is not active as it is not useful to people for tax. I have the invoice option active, but this is not activated by the system, but as mentioned can be accessed in their back-office.

So do I need to rebuild the payment received message into an invoice (receipt) or am I missing a component that already does this?

Some of this could be American / British English confusion over the use of the term Invoice.

I dont know if this is part of the same issue, but we only allow full payment, yet we get occasional incomplete / Payment pending registrations. Should they not just get marked as being abandoned?

Tickets actually paid with stripe, my bad.

Hi there,

I’m not sure I follow what you are looking to do here.

You’ve explains how things are working and then ask this:

So do I need to rebuild the payment received message into an invoice (receipt) or am I missing a component that already does this?

But I’m not really sure what it is you are working on achieving.

Do you want an email linking to the invoice/receipt?

I dont know if this is part of the same issue, but we only allow full payment, yet we get occasional incomplete / Payment pending registrations. Should they not just get marked as being abandoned?

It depends on what you are referring to, if payment has not been completed, they should sit with a registration status of Pending Payment and a transaction status of Incomplete (or abandoned depending on where they stop on the registration).

If they are completing payment and EE still shows them as Pending Payment with an Incomplete transaction status then something is failing when the request checks for payment.

Can you add a screenshot of how the Registration and Transaction show when the above happens?

The transaction are showing as complete.
I made the assumption that the Invoice message/email would be sent when a payment is complete (and not before)
The invoice message is active, but it is not sent via email at all. There is no log of any being sent.
The customers can however access their invoice in their membership account, so it is being created by EE, just not sent. The lack of it being sent is the problem

This is why I wondered if the Payment received message needed to be custom built to function as the invoice.

The transaction are showing as complete.

?? The screenshots you’ve included show the transaction status as incomplete.

The invoice message is active, but it is not sent via email at all.

That’s correct, Invoice isn’t sent directly at all. A link can be included in the Registration Approved email and it also shows up on the thank you page.

The lack of it being sent is the problem

Ok, so EE doesn’t ‘send’ an invoice at all, but links can be included within any of the emails sent.

For example the ‘Registration Approved’ message type is considered the ‘confirmation email’ by most people, would it work to include a link to the email within that?

(Note you can not include the Invoice as an attachment, EE dynamically generate the PDF’s on the fly, we don’t store them so there isn’t a PDF to send with the email)

Ah, sorry, I‘m trying to resolve about 3 different EE challenges at once and getting them mixed up. Here is a completed transactions https://chiroeurope.com/mp-files/screenshot-transactions-2.jpeg/

Well that would explain a lot of things if it‘s not sent at altl. (I also assumed it was generated ‚on the fly‘:

Yes including a link to an invoice in a registration approved email would be perfect. I‘m guessing there is a shortcode or similar for that?

I do apologise for asking dumb questions. Of course there is this in the message area:
The invoice message type is triggered via a url on the thank you page and via at url generated by the [INVOICE_URL] or [INVOICE_LINK] shortcode.

There are no dumb questions 🙂

So just to confirm, did you add the above to the message template and now have a working link for your invoices?

I did add it, haven’t seen one to check it works but am making the assumption that it does
