We have had some new registrations and the messages are not sending and are displayed in the “Failed Sending – Can Be Retried” list. When we view the error information for each message it says “Message was not executed successfully.
Messenger and Message Type were valid and active, but the messenger send method failed.
The email did not send successfully.
The WordPress wp_mail function is used for sending mails but does not give any useful information when an email fails to send.
It is possible the “to” address (address1) or “from” address (ouraddress) is invalid.
Our from address is accurate and has been working. We’ve checked the To address and it is accurate and we are getting this messages on multiple emails. When I click Send Immediately for any of the messages it says “An error has occurred:
No message was sent because of problems with sending. Either all the messages you selected were not a sendable message, they were ALREADY sent on a different scheduled task, or there was an error. If there was an error, you can look at the messages in the message activity list table for any error messages.”
We do not use the default WP_Mail service, we have an SMTP plugin running. I have checked that and it was giving an error which I’ve now rectified and it is sending a test message without error but we are still having an issue in EE4.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,
If you add a new registration onto the site, do the messages send for that registration or do they also show an error?
If they show an error, try temporarily disabling the SMTP plugin you are using (you should then be using your hosts mail server) and retest a new registration, does it work then?
The error message you are getting means EE is successfully generating the email, but when passing the email to wp_mail (which you will be using, just overridden by you plugin) it’s returning false meaning the sending failed but there’s no additional details to show you.
