Hi,
I can not add any items to my cart.

I can click on add to cart, and the button changes to view cart, but when I click on it, this message appears.
“It looks like you are attempting to refresh a page after completing your registration or your cart is empty. Please go to the events page and try again.”

I have found very similar problems that have been fixed on the forums but I can’t find a fix for my situation.

I have created an event list here: http://chicc.net/events-list/
And this is an event page: http://chicc.net/events/?ee=5

Really hope you can help me out as I am out of ideas.

Here is a report from system status:

Hi Leigh,

Something is clearing the session, if you add the event to the cart and then just refresh the page, you can see the event is no longer added to the cart. (this is not expected behavior)

Personally I would do a full troubleshoot.

Temporarily enable a default WordPress theme such as twentyfourteen and retest.

Also try disabling all none EE plugins and retest, if the cart then works enable each other plugin one by one (testing after you enable each one) until the cart no longer works again, then report back which plugin caused the issue so we can investigate further.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the quick response. I have enabled twentyfourteen and disabled all plugins other than EE, but no luck.

Can you install the requirements plugin and go to tools->requirements check? Your php sessions directory might not be writable.

Hi Sidney,
PHP is running as CGI so the recommended apache modules were not found on the requirements check. The other flags were MySQL version is 5.0.96-community and Apache security was not found.

I have raised a ticket with my host to run Apache as a module on Feb 17 however they still have not got back to me. Would this be the cause of my problem? I don’t think my host will change their configuration.
Thanks
Leigh

Hi Leigh,

I would query with them why your PHP sessions are not saving correctly, they should be able to advise a reason behind it, as although the Requirements check is saying the sessions folder is writable, it obviously isn’t otherwise MER would be working fine.

Their MySQL is quite old and they have mod_sec disabled? Who is the host?

Thanks Dean, I will follow that up. The host is gcweb.com.au
