Hi, I need to have a different price based on the member level. Is this possible? And if yes, do I have use S2 Member? Examples of what I am trying to achieve: Thank you! |
Hi Nina, How are you today? With Event Espresso the tickets can have a capability assigned to them which means you can create tickets that only users with that capability can purchase. There are no limits to the amounts of tickets a user can purchase per user account (or per time limit) currently so this would need some custom development. The ticket capability does not allow you to to set a discount amount per membership, unless you create a ticket on each event specifically for that capability. So by default it is possible to do so some of what you are looking for, but not in the way you are currently expecting it to work. You would need to create ‘free’ or discounted tickets within the events and then assign a capability to those tickets that the different member levels can purchase. |

Hi Tony, Just one thing is not very clear. Is this possible at all? And there are some main features that I need for membership that S2 Member doesn’t have, so I am leading to go with Membership 2 from WPMUDEV. Before getting their license I want to know if there is anything that I will be able to achieve ONLY if I use S2. I saw old posts where you guys said you had some sort of integration with S2 member about prices for different levels. Thank you very much! |
Yes its possible, but is done by creating multiple tickets, each with a capability only available to specific roles, for example – http://take.ms/JDR3u The ticket ‘Level 1 Price’ will only be available if you have the access_s2member_level1 capability. So you could do that with each different ticket price and create tickets for each role, does that make sense? However one thing you need to be careful of is S2 Member gives access to your current level and the levels below, so you ma need a different capability specific to each level.
They will have been for EE3 which worded differently. EE4 is based solely on the capability you enter into that field, if the role has that capability, they can access that ticket. We created it this way to allow for the most flexibility with membership plugins. |

Hi Nina, I realized I hadn’t made it clear in the above that the ticket capability section shown in the screenshot is from the EE4 User Integration Add-on and is not a part of Event Espresso core. So for the above to work you would need Event Espresso core and that add-on (of the EE4 Everything license as it is included with that) |
