Our registration fills up within minutes of it opening and we did a test where two people registered at the same time for the final spot. We both got in, creating one extra person in the class. We are currently running version 4.8.20 and last version when we did this, the later person got an automated message when the other person took the last spot about the event being full. It didn’t happen this time and we both got in. This is a concern as we typically have many people attempt registration the second it opens and we can’t have multiple people get confirmation when the last spot has already been taken. Any thoughts or advice? Also, I have not viewed the change log, but we are due to upgrade to 4.8.25 and wonder if it’s worth it. |
Hi Erin, It turns out the only version of Event Espresso 4 that currently has the feature where it keeps track of the inventory of tickets before the actual sales happen (then releases the tickets back into inventory if they do not actually sell) is the branch that’s available here on Github: https://github.com/eventespresso/event-espresso-core/tree/BUG-8698-ticket-sellouts Once the testing is complete it will be merged into the main branch and included in a version update. You’re welcome to download the version from the above link, it’s had the main branch merged into it, so it has all of the other fixes that were included in the current version of Event Espresso 4. |

Hi Josh, I’m a little confused by your answer and unfortunately, I’m more of an admin and do not have the expertise to mess with any code. Is there anything that’s a bit more simple. |
No messing with code is involved. You asked for thoughts or advice, the advise I gave was to check out or even use the version that has the feature you are looking for. If you prefer not to use that version, that’s fine, it will eventually make it into an official release when it’s ready. |

Thanks for your reply. I’m just not sure how I would go back to the version I’m looking for. Is that an easy change? |
Technically you’ll be going forward to a version that has not been released yet. You can switch to the version by going to the page that I linked to, and you click the download zip button. Then you deactivate the version of Event Espresso you have installed right now, and install the plugin zip file that you downloaded from Github. Then, once that branch is merged to Master and it’s released, you can start using the official release channel again. |
