One of the things we could do with EE3 was manually apply promotions and adjust payments. I’ve seen a couple of threads about this, from before the EE4 Promotions add-on was really up and usable. I have a couple of people who registered and paid with the PreReg event, but are actually staff, and I need to give them credit for that payment in the Staff event… I try to “Apply Payment” as I would do for a check/cash payment, but there is no option where I can input a Promotion Code and have it applied. Needless to say, I don’t want to say that they paid me money when they didn’t in this event (and my accounting folks will have my head if I do that). But if I don’t have a payment applied, they look as if they are abandoned transactions, and don’t show up when I download my csv files (which means they don’t get the correct badge printed). Suggestions? Thanks. |
Hello, Applying promotions through the WP dashboard is on roadmap. As a workaround, you can use the [FRONTEND_EDIT_REG_LINK] shortcode in the event admin notification so you can access the front-end of the site and view this registration. That will let you apply a promotion code. Go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Now look for the message type that you are trying to edit such as the Registration approved message type and then click on the Event Admin recipient. The shortcode can then be added to the Attendee_List area like this: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/7aba8192df610d4665e561d214599f20 If you need to apply a promotion in the future, then you can use that link to access the registration on the front end. — |

I love it when I can find an answer to the precise question I’m looking for. 🙂 I also need to retroactively apply a promotion code to a couple of registrants. Can you spell it out for me a little more specifically, step by step? I’m not quite getting it. |

Lorenzo – (sorry, I was out of town) Are you saying that I should edit the Default Message Templates??? on the SECOND tab? Thanks. |
Hello, You can also edit the message template for the registrant if you would like to offer them the ability to change their registration details by clicking a link through an email address. However, this is not required for the event admin recipient. — |

Got it. Thanks. |

(oh, and the Attendee Mover plugin is going to be a big time saver for us) |
