The manual registration of free tickets does not work. Using priced ones (<> 0$) does give me a choice of a ticket. This does not work with free ones. Using another theme does not help (backend/admin view).

Please advice

Hi there,

If you look within your event and check the ‘Event Registration Options’ section you’ll find an option to set “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event” – http://take.ms/vDYz6

Is that currently set to 1?

That means that your total registration can not exceed 1, if you have a single free ticket Event Espresso automatically selects that ticket for you. With the above setting you can’t have more than 1 ticket so it does not display any details.

You can just click the ‘Add Ticket and continue to registrant details’ button.

Is you want to select more than 1 ticket within that section you will need to set the ‘Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event’ to a value greater than 1.

I did notice that the formatting of the ticket selector breaks within that section when this is the case and have create a ticket to investigate that further.

Hello,
thank you very much for your fast replay. You have been almost right.
1. I did not see how to proceed, as the button ‘Add Ticket and continue to registrant details’ has been on top of the right hand menue – sorry, blind.
2. The possibility to see the details of the event is missing in that case in addition to the formatting issue (you opened a ticked, thanks)
3. The behavior was not caused by “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event”, but by the ‘Maximum Quantity’ in the advanced section of the ticket – same effect.

Thank you for you answer – solved.

Ahh, I see.

Yes that will have the same effect. If you can only purchase a single free ticket, be that by max qty or total qty per registration then the details aren’t shown and your in the same situation 🙂

The button should be much more visible than it is now, we’ll get that fixed up.

Just to make sure, when talking about details, I refencing to the event Details, like starting date of selling period, venue, … . I would like to see them even it is 1 free ticket.

thx for looking into the matter

You would like those details within the admin? They are visible within the event itself, not the ticket selector.

The only details that are hidden when this happens are sections within the ticket selector, so it normally looks like this – http://take.ms/7eEbK

With the more details section open – http://take.ms/GAIHL

But with a single free ticket it should look like – http://take.ms/2MpUI

Can you post a screenshot of what you don’t want hidden?

I see no reason preventing the admin to access the information you can see on your screenshot http://take.ms/GAIHL just because it is a free single ticket. Why handle this (your last Screen shot) different (in context of showing additional information) than in the situation on your first screen shot. It is not a must for me.

It was requested by multiple users to hide the additional details available when the user can purchase a single ticket. We chose to hide those details only for free tickets as most of the pricing information does not apply to a singe, free ticket.

You can tell Event Espresso to use the standard information for all tickets by adding:

add_filter( 'FHEE__ticket_selector_chart_template__hide_ticket_selector', '__return_false' );

to either your themes functions.php or a Site Specific Plugin.

Note that information does not contain any details for venue. All of the information shown there is available from within the event editor, which you as an admin have access to.

Thank you for your effort. I will curently live without the Information and try maybe later with a Site Specific Plugn.
