I am having a number of issues since updating both wordpress and ee3. For now I only have time to post about one of them. I was doing a test to make sure people would be directed to the waitlist once my event was full, and it worked, however it’s saying it’s not complete until payment is made, but why would anyone pay without having a spot?

Hi Karen,
Should they expect to get the tickets or a complete registration without paying? That message is telling them that they don’t have a completed registration yet, but that message can be re-worded or even removed if you’d like to.

Before I updated WP, and EE3 it allowed them to fill out the information to be added to the waitlist, but did not ask for payment. Why has this changed? Can I remove it?

Is it really asking them for payment? It sounds like what you need to do is set the wait list event to have a price of 0.00. If it has a price, it will mention payments.

Yes it really is asking for payment, see my screenshot I added in my first comment.
I have removed the price, but now what happens when we need to take members from the waitlist? Do we have to manually setup an invoice for them for the amount? This functionality has changed after the update I made, and it doesn’t make much sense to me anymore.

You can use the attendee mover plugin to move them from the wait list to the actual event.
