Event espresso is stuck in “Maintenance mode” after latest update. I also cannot load the WP Admin interface with the plug in active. I am running the latest wordpress and EE4. The site simply displays this message on all pages:

Maintenance Mode

Event Registration has been temporarily closed while system maintenance is being performed. We’re sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. Please try back again later.

Hi there,

You need to migrate your EE4 data to the latest version. First make a backup of your database before moving forward (important).

Then go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance.

It should look like this – http://take.ms/GUXL6

Click to migrate your data and follow the steps, note when you migrate your data be sure to select to Migrate – http://take.ms/4rY95

Clicking the other option resets EE4 back to default and removes the event data from the Database.

Thank you for the fast response, unfortunately I am unable to load the WP_Admin interface at all, it just loads a white page when event espresso is installed.

Hmm, what happens if you navigate directly to the migration page:

/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings

You’ll need to add your domain to the beginning, for example:

http://www.example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings

No love, I also attempted to downgrade back to the older version but that disables the entire site.

If you enable WP_DEBUG on the site does it show any errors?

I believe I got it, I rolled back the plugin to v. 4.8 and it gave me the option to migrate the database, I was then able to update to 4.9 and it seems to be good.
