Hello,

Your Mailchimp account keeps a log of attempts through the API.

Could you check your API log to see if there have been failed attempts instead of green checkmarks?

Here is how to do that:

API logs are all green check marks.
I already reinstalled the plugin and reactivated it.
Currently working with 2.3.2.p

I just made a new api key, and will try it again

Hello,

By default, the person that registers would need to click the opt-in button via a MailChimp email to finish the opt-in process.

Are you using that default option or are you overriding the default so they should be opted-in immediately?

You can find out through the MailChimp settings page for Event Espresso.

I just checked with an new API from mailchimp, still doesn’t work.
The guests are opted-in immediately (no double opt selected)

You can rule out a theme conflict by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme.

You can rule out a plugin conflict by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins.

I have 4 other plugin’s that use the mailchimp API.

Userpro
Mailchimp for wordpress
Formcraft
Leadin

Any known issues?

No, currently we do not have any known conflicts with those plugins.

When you view the MailChimp API log you mentioned they are all Green checkmarks, is there a subscribe call actually being made in the list?

View you API log and not the last log entry.

Now run through a test registration on one of your events and not the api calls, what functions are called between the original view and the new calls?

If you prefer you can take a screenshot before and after and include both here for us to view.

Seems like the API works, but the e-mail address isn’t added to my list.

There are no ‘subscribe’ calls within the log, so the user will not be added to the list.

If you go to Event Espresso -> MailChimp.

What option do you have set for ‘Submit to MailChimp when …’?

MailChimp API Options: Skip double opt-in emails.
When should the attendee data be submitted to MailChimp: Registration is completed with an approved status

Are you either paying for the ticket in full or registering onto a free ticket when running the test registrations?

paying in full. It’s a ticket that has just been bought and payed for

Hi Kevin,

Could you create an event called test with a description of test and then assign it to one of your lists and save changes to publish the event?

Then could you share a link to that testing event here?

I see you made a test: here’s the api log for the test https://www.dropbox.com/s/vc4z1ls2t7vu586/Knipsel.PNG?dl=0

Those logs show that the MailChimp Add-on is making a ‘subscribe’ call to the API (this meand ths add-on is working) and should add the user to the list

However looking at the MailChimp response field it looks like MailChimp is throwing an exception on that call, which is why your registrants are not being added to the lists.

I just ran another test registration using a different email, can you check if that subscribe call failed to please?

If so you will need to contact MailChimp support for further information on that error as it is from MailChimp server, not EE.
