Hello, We’ve used the MailChimp API since 2013, all worked fine since then. Today, on the “Add New Event” screen, the “MailChimp List” box is displaying “Invalid MailChimp API” I’ve logged into MailChimp, created a new API, and copy/pasted it into the box in the EE MailChimp settings, and I cannot save the settings as it is saying “An error has occurred: Invalid MailChimp API Key.” Can you offer any suggestions of how to fix this? |

Hi D, Strange, it sounds like MaiLChimp are not validating the key. I assume your double checked the key is correct? I know you’ve mentioned you created a new one but just checking you confirmed the new value you are setting for the key is correct. Can you send me the key so I can test it on one of my sites and see what the response from MailChimp is? You can add it to a private reply here (I’ll remove it once Ive copied the key anyway) or email it to support[at]eventespresso.com |

Ok, so the keys work fine on my site which means there is likely an issue with the request being sent to/from MailChimp on your server. Do you have FTP access to the server? To view what is happening here we’ll need to add some debug code to view the response on the server. I can do that on your site if you have FTP access and you can send the credentials requested on this form: |

Hi D, My apologies for the delay. I added some debug code to your site so I could capture the MailChimp API request and it looks like MailChimp is blocking requests from your hosts IP. The response from MailChimp is:
There is a Reference Number for the error an a link to contact MailChimp support, I’ll include those in a private reply after this one. Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can fix on our end. MailChimp need to unblock your server’s IP address on their servers or your host will need to move you to another server (new IP address) or you’ll need to move hosts. I’d start by contacting MailChimp support to ask them to invest this first. |
