Hi There,

I cannot get my registrants to be added to my mailchimp list.

I have my API key set and it has a green tick
I have skip double opt-in ticked.
I have submit to mail chip when registered with approved status set.
I can see my list which contains merge fields in my event and i have all the fields linked up as required.
I can see the API calls in mail chimp however no subscriber is being added to my list.

Mail chimp support said that the API is not sending the correct call to add subscribers.
I can see the last call it makes is lists/list. Mail chimp support said it should be making /lists/subscribe call to add subscribers?

Is there something else i need to set up to make this work?

See below results from API call log.

That’s correct, when EE sends a subscribe call you’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/2QouH

As long as you have selected the list within the event itself and set the merge vars correctly it should just work.

With this option:

I have submit to mail chip when registered with approved status set.

A subscribe call will only be made when the registration is approved, if you are registering onto a free ticket that should be at the end of the registration, if a paid ticket it will only happen when the registration is paid for – http://take.ms/D5Ul1

Can you link me to your event so I can run a test registration please?

Hi Tony,

When testing this I am going through the registration page on my site, then applying a payment from backend which updates the status to approved.
At this point i see the API calls in mail chimp but only up to /lists/list, it does not do the next call.

Below is a screenshot of the settings within the event.

N.B. The event is live!

In order for it to be set to approved, I would need to update the status manually.

Currently the MailChimp add-on does not subscribe users if you manually approve the registration from within the admin.

To test a subscribe call you will need to either register onto a free ticket or pay for one of the paid tickets from the front end (you can use the payment method in sandbox mode to do so).

I have requested some feedback from on our developers on this and will update this thread shortly.

Thanks Tony,

I’ll test that out later today and see if it works when I use paypal.

I am expecting that many of my registrants will be paying by bank deposit, and I will be applying payments from admin area, so if there is a solution to this it would great.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Your other option is set the Mailchimp settings to “Submit to MailChimp when … registration is completed (payment status does not matter).” This way, when a registrant selects the option to pay by bank deposit Event Espresso will send the subscribe call to Mailchimp.
