Hi there Have noticed that our outgoing emails aren’t getting sent. We’re using sendgrid and can send test emails just fine from the Sendgrid plugin. Also, wordpress is sending it’s transactional emails just fine (such as account creation, password reset). If I attempt to re-send them from the queue, I get the following error message:
The WP Mail Logging plugin is not showing any activity. Any clues on troubleshooting this would be appreciated. |

Hi Richard, Which version number of Event Espresso 4 are you using please? If you look within the message activity list and click the ‘i’ within the actions section for that message does it show an error message there? |
Version 4.9.0.beta.002 I suppose I should revert to the stable release? I’d forgotten I had installed a beta version. Maybe this is related to the version I am using, but I’m not seeing an ‘i’ icon in the Actions section for each message, just what is in the screenshot here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ymq64ib40jf3sex/Screenshot%202016-05-04%2022.43.05.png?dl=0 |

OK, I’m realising I should really be posting this in the Pre-Release forum? |
As you’ve started the thread here its fine (we can move the thread if needed) If you enable WP_DEBUG do you see the i shown then? (You may need resend the message with WPDebug enabled, although it should just show up) |
Hi Tony WP_DEBUG is set to true, and am not seeing the ‘i’ action icon. Source code is clearly only showing three icons there. However if I attempt to re-send I get this additional information now: EED_Messages – send_now – 917 Not sure if that helps. Could our php version have anything to do with this? We are testing on PHP 7. |
PHP 7 is fine. Can you check with your host to see if they’ve disabled or altered the wp_cron() function? |
Hi Josh wp_cron() is enabled and unaltered and I can see that ee_message_cron is running AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__sending and AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__generation Using a plugin, I can manually execute these tasks as well but the messages remain in the queue and unsent. |
Hmm strange. That version of 4.9 should include the information icon for additional info on the error, here is a test site I’ve just set up to confirm – http://take.ms/9fV1l So I setup a SendGrid account to double check this works, again no problem. Do you mind if I take a quick browse over you message settings to see if anything jumps out? If not you can send temporary login details using this form: |
Hi Tony I’ve submitted login details via your form. Many thanks |
Hi Richard, I spent some time looking over your messages setup and can see no reason for this currently, everything seems to be setup correctly. It is also not an issue with wp_cron as the same happens with single message triggers. I’ve requested some feedback from our developers and will update you with any feedback they provide. |
