Looking to add a meta field to Event Categories

I’ve been looking to add a meta field to my Event Categories, so that when I display them I can do so by a “Sort Order” field. If I was to overwrite the template as in /admin_pages/events/templates/event_category_details_template.php, is that possible by extending Events_Admin_Page in my theme?

Hi Dan,

No, please don’t overwrite that template. Instead, you can install a plugin like this one:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-term-order/

After you install and activate the plugin, you can go to this URL in your WP admin to set the event category order:

yoursite.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=espresso_event_categories
