Hi,

You keep saying my license is on 2 sites and it is only on one and for me now it has been ages since I have been able to update it, please fix this as i have a one year license and you guys have taken months away because you have no idea what is going on…

rotarywales.co.uk is the licensed site and only that site

Hi Barlee,

We don’t set the domain that a license key is registered to, when a license key is ‘available’ the first site that pings our servers using that key has its domain assigned to the key. If another site then pings the site using the same key, you see a notice stating as such.

Josh mentioned this your previous thread here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/license-key-on-multiple-domains/

Currently, we are receiving pings from 3 domains with your key – http://take.ms/eTXaX

The server doesn’t ‘look’ for domains, it simply reads the domain the ping is from. Meaning our system isn’t searching for your sites and finding additional domains, your server is pinging us from the above all of the above domains.

(There is some additional checking done on our end, but the full domain the ping is from is the domain used for the key)

rotarywales.co.uk is the licensed site and only that site

rotarywales.co.uk redirects to www.rotarywales.co.uk

I’m guessing you have rotarywales.co.uk set as your ‘WordPress address’ in general settings?

It is the same domain….why can your system not detect it is the same.

Please check now I have removed some code from htaccess, perhaps that will help. I am guessing yoru system is confused with certain redirection in place

I can’t ‘check now’ for the reasons mentioned above, the server doesn’t look for the domain, it logs the pings sent to the domain, so there’s nothing I can check.

I can (and have) reset your license key, if you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings, remove the key from the field (cut it), then save the settings, replace the key (paste) and save the settings again I can check if the key is assigned to the correct domain at that time, but that doesn’t mean your server will not ping us again from the other domains.

Maybe it would help to clarify that a license key is valid for a single site, www.rotarywales.co.uk, rotarywales.co.uk, events.rotarywales.co.uk, something.rotarywales.co.uk could all be separate sites, how else would we identify the site unless using the full domain for that site? Meaning www.rotarywales.co.uk and rotarywales.co.uk are considered separate sites.
