Scenario:
John Doe buys a ticket for an event – a WP User is created.
He then decides to buy another ticket for his employee so he
1. logs in (he wants to keep all the payments under one account)
2. selects the event
3. selects 1 ticket
4. clicks Register
5. he is presented with a registration form with some of his details pre-filled and a note at the bottom saying changes will update his profile.
6. he enters the details of the second person attending the event and completes registration
7. John Doe’s details are now overwritten!
You could also have the scenario where John Doe isn’t a registrant at all for the event, he is just using his account to register others (as might be the case e.g. company account).
As you can see this is not what he was expecting, so how can your software handle this?
Ideally it would detect the email is not the same and automatically generate a new user or have a checkbox option ‘attendee is Not account user’ which when ticked would create a new attendee.
The latest update to the WP User Integration includes a new option so you can turn off the sync to profile.
