loading transaction and payment information doesn't go away after WP Engine fix

We have chatted with the WP Engine team hosting our site and shared the link to your directions here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/

However the “loading transaction and payment information” does not go away.

We have double-confirmed via separate chat with a different technician that the pages are removed from cache and the heartbeat API is enabled.

This issue persists with all plugins disabled and using the theme “TwentySeventeen”.

EE Version 4.9.69.p

What should we do next?

Hi,

If you view the source of the page where the “loading transaction and payment information doesn’t go away”, is the heartbeat.js script listed as a loading script?

No, I do not see heartbeat.js listed.

I can see that the heartbeat.js file is not loading on that page. Which isn’t surprising because WPEngine has a built-in plugin that removes it. You could add the code outlined in this article:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/#heartbeat

to a site-specific plugin on your site, then activate it.

Or, contact WPEngine support and give the the same URL you provided in your last reply, and ask them to please allow the Heartbeat.js file for that /thank-you/ page. They may have activated it for the /wp-admin/ side only.
