I’ve recently started using the plugin livesupporti on my site to provide live customer support. Event espresso conflicts with EVERYTHING…. So can you please check to make sure this plugin is NOT conflicting?

We’d like to make sure that Event Espresso isn’t conflicting. Can you explain why you think Event Espresso is causing a conflict?

I believe its conflicting because payments are not going through sometimes. It’s been reported that the gear just sits there and turns upon the going through the checkout process. I’ve had multiple reports of payment pending…. That never went to approved. I’ve found that if the customer exits out of the page while the gear is still turning, it puts into the category of pending payment. And never going through…. Everything conflicts with your plug in….. That’s why I ask!

So is the reason that you suspect that the livesupporti plugin is conflicting because everything works if it’s deactivated?

To be clear, if another plugin or theme function is throwing a JavaScript error, it will cause issues for other plugins so the solution is identify the error and fix the other plugin, or find an alternative that’s coded properly.

The problem is there’s no true way for me to test my theory. And yes, I didn’t start get reports of the gear just sitting there and spinning till I started using the supportlivei plugin… which is why I suspect it. I do my very best to leave my site alone once I get your ticketing system up and running smooth! I feel like I’m walking around on pins and needles on my own site because the second something goes wrong… people cant buy tickets and I lose money! And 90% of the time a customer is not going to call you and tell you its not working… they’re just going to give up! It needs to work fast and smooth EVER TIME! And your system does not do that. I have worked with godaddy hand in hand doing EVERYTHING you guys have told me to do… my whole c panel account revolves around your plugin!! I can’t do anything because I’m in fear that it will screw something up!! In the past I added a form plugin so customers could add info about private events and register coupons….. it conflicted….. I’ve had to deactivate almost everything! So YES …. I believe supportlivei is conflicting. Can you PLEASE look into it?

I looked into this and I see no conflict between Event Espresso 4 and the LiveSupporti plugin. I went and got an account from LiveSupporti, installed their plugin on my site that also runs Event Espresso 4, and everything just works.

Here’s a little tip that will help: When you add a new plugin to your site or change WordPress themes, it’s best to test the functionality of the mission critical website features (like the event registration process). This way you’ll avoid scenarios like people can’t buy tickets.

Thanks for looking into it. The problem is, the only way for me to test that my ticketing is working properly is to log onto my page as an outside user, and go through the check out process with my own personal credit card… Other than that, I have to assume that its working…. until someone calls in and tells me its not… Thats what I don’t like. But thanks again. Until the next issue…..

There are other ways and it’s inexcusable to assume a website is working without doing any testing. For example you can set up a second site that’s running the same plugins, and set your payment method of choice to test mode. This is a common practice for web site developers and web site owners that run e-commerce websites.
