OK, I am getting two EE messages today. see below. I don’t want to get in trouble. Also, I do have a question, is it possible to setup a test site to do all my staging and then activate on the new site with my changes?

Your support license key is only valid for one domain at a time, and our licensing system has detected that you are using your license key on multiple domains. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys, or if you have concerns, please Contact Us.

You have the correct Support License Key for Event Espresso but your account only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.
We recommend setting up a development/test site and there you can run updates manually or set up to pull from our github repository. Then, you leave the license key field blank on your test site.
I’ll reset your license key which should remove the notices. It looks like the removal of the www from your URL triggered the invalid key notice.
Ok, I will do that with a test site.
About the www piece, it was never setup with www in front of it, it has always been hurricane.football. Maybe a plugin changed something when it was activated but I can’t find a www. anywhere in any of the settings and the site URL fields are all grayed out so I can’t change them if I wanted to.
I can live with the message as long as nothing will break.
No, nothing will break. The licence key is their to facilitate updates and to confirm you are eligible for support. As Josh mentions, it’s preferable if the licence key is only used on live sites rather than development ones.
