Hi Guys,

Happy New Year to you all!

Can you see any problems with using one of my developer licenses to setup a fresh EE on a clients new domain, and then when we divert address locations to make the switch, we then simply transfer the EE license over, and I then have my developer license back?

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Thanks and Happy New Year 🙂

The only problem with doing the above is the dev license key will link to the domain and require a reset.

You have EE installed at domain x.com but are setting up domain y.com to switch over to when ready. Is that correct?

If so you can setup Event Espresso on y.com without the license key and then once ready to switch over, remove the license key from x.com, request a reset for that key and apply it to y.com.

Does that make sense?

Thanks Tony, that’s great!

So apart from the error about the license update I can update and test EE without the license?

Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Event Espresso can be updated manually (no 1-click updates) and tested without the license.
