This is the fourth time I’m having trouble with the Site License Key. A quick search of your forums returned this: “About 613 results (0.29 seconds).”

Once again, I’m staring at an error at the top of my WP Admin:

“You have the correct Support License Key for Event Espresso but your account only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.”

I know there’s a “Request Reset” button on my account page… I’ve used it several times. But come on, isn’t there a better way?

I’m nearing the end of my rope w/ EE4. I’ve never had this much consistent, repeated trouble w/ a “premium” plugin.

Please reset. Again. Then fix this issue so it doesn’t continue to repeat.

Thanks.

And just in case it’s somehow relevant:
Wordpress 3.9.2
EE 4.3.1.p

Thanks.

I deleted the old key and saved. Then pasted the new key and saved. Now I get this error:

An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Either you have entered the wrong key on the Event Espresso General Settings page (EE3+ users) or Your Organization Settings page (EE4+ users) OR you no longer have access to the updates for this plugin. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.

Please advise.

We are currently investigating license key issues.

Can you double check there is no whitespace before/after the key in license field and re-save please?

Thanks Tony.
There was no space before or after.
When I resaved, it validated and the key turned green. Not sure what you did on your end, but thanks!

Now that it validated, I attempted to update to the current version and get the following error:

The plugin event-espresso-core-reg-1/espresso.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

Once again, please advise.

Several steps later, I got the update to install, but now the site license key is red again. Wow.

Hi,

Event Espresso does not use any numbers in its folder name.

During an update, the old folder is removed and replaced with a new one. In your case the folder with the number was removed and should have been replaced with the following folder:

event-espresso-core-reg

FYI: I got the update to install and activate. But I did not change the folder name to include a number… that was the name given during the auto-update process, so I’m guessing that’s y’all. Either way, it’s activated and working.

But I’m left w/ a non-working site license key again ๐Ÿ™

Hi Matthew,

We are investigating the site license key issues and are working towards a resolution for them. In the mean time we can reset your license key once again.

The license key is used for auto updates and links your support license to your domain, so Event Espresso will continue to work as normal even whilst the key is ‘invalid’. I do understand this can be frustrating, but we are working on a solution ๐Ÿ™‚

Reg.

The plugin event-espresso-core-reg-1/espresso.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.

That’s the directory name Event Espresso had before the update. Once the update was done the directory would then become /event-espresso-core-reg/ so the next time you visit the plugins page, WP would look for the original directory name, not find it and throw that warning.

This usually happens when installing a plugin manually when the file has been downloaded multiple times, so the .zip file ends up with a number assigned to the end. Such as “event-espresso-core-reg (2).zip” when that’s uploaded using the plugin uploader the directory created is event-espresso-core-reg-2.

I have reset your license key again.

Please go to General Settings, remove the key, save the settings, replace the key and save the settings once again.
