I am considering purchasing LearnDash because of its add-on that automatically grants permissions to the LD course that correlates to the event paid for in Event Espresso. LD requires that “THE USERS MUST BE LOGGED IN AT TIME OF EE REGISTRATION” in order for LD to know the users name.
This requirements is challenging it will be a big ASK for the customer to first login to EE before paying. My questions are:
1) can EE ask the user to enter a password at the time of registration/payment and create that user account in WordPress?
2) if #1 is possible, will the LD-EE integration add-on be able to add that user account into the LD Course ACL?
3) If #1 and #2 are not possible, how do you recommend integrating EE with an LMS (what LMS do you recommend)?
It is possible for EE to ask the user to either log in or register for a user account (and after they register an account they’ll automatically get logged in and continue to the event registration page). The WP Users Integration add-on for EE makes this possible. So you’d install the WP Users add-on, then you’ll set an option within the event to require user log in.
With regards to LearnDash and its EE add-on you could check with the folks at LearnDash to find out what it will be able to do. I’m afraid I’ve not used LearnDash so I’m not sure what it can and can’t do.
