Last name field not long enough

We have had a handful of people who we could not register correctly because their last name was longer than the 25 character limit on the checkout/registration pages. Not sure if you are aware of this as in issue but what do you recommend?

Hi,

I had a look at the character limit for the last name question in the question editor and it is set to 45 characters by default which is the maximum:
