Im struggelig with translation.. I have: Change wordpress wp-config.php to correct language nb_NO is it something im doing wrong, i get no changes? |
If you upload the language files to within the plugins own directory each time the plugin updates they will be deleted. So you’ll want to upload the language files to: /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ Also check your filename is either: event_espresso-nb_NO.mo or event-espresso-4-nb_NO.mo (If you rename the PO file to match this then when you generate the MO file it will be the correct filename) |

Thanks, i have created the folder and added them there. they are called event_espresso-nb_NO.mo and event_espresso-nb_NO.po is that correct? i still does not see the changes i made. |
Have you set the language within Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Site Language? |
yes, its set to “norsk bokmål” (norwegian – NB_NO) |
Some of the language are changed.. but not what i have changed 🙂 |
Can you tell me where you downloaded the PO file from? Also what did you change within the PO file? |
i DL this file https://github.com/eventespresso/languages/blob/master/event_espresso-nb_NO.po i translated “Registration Checkout” to “Påmelding” Register -> Meld deg på (that worked) |
That translation file is for EE3 and will not contain all of the correct strings for EE4. Here is the our Glotpress project for EE4: http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso-4 You’ll need the translations from that project: http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso-4/no/event-espresso-nb_NO Click the ‘Export’ button at the bottom of the page – http://take.ms/EgRiM Then rename the PO file to the correct filename and edit the strings there. Generate the MO file and upload it to the same location mentioned above. Do the translations then work as expected? |

Thanks a lot! Now it works great! It really worked better with the correct files! Thanks for good support! |
Hello there Knut, We have a new resource that explains how to translate Event Espresso. You can view it here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-translate-event-espresso/ Also, GlotPress now has translation strings that are up to date for the current Event Espresso 4.8.x platform. — |
