I have taken over a website on the backend and the Event Espresso was not working. There was no license number stored in the plug-in so I went an purchased a new, Individual one. I am told that I should not update the plug-in 3.1.29.1.P (by the guys who do our site) because it (and the wordpress site version I am using 3.5.1. ) could not handle the update. I am trying to open an event registration right now and am feeling the pinch.
Did your web developer (or designer?) give you any specific reasons for their suggestion to not update WordPress and Event Espresso? Do you know if your web developer performed and code customization’s directly to WordPress and/or Event Espresso?
Do you know who’s hosting your website? Ie, Bluehos, GoDaddy, HostGator, etc.
Sorry, I didn’t notice before I posted. You purchased a license for Event Espresso 4, instead of Event Espresso 3, which is currently installed. We can switch your license to an EE3 one, if you like?
Or did you want to find out more about updating? I think EE3, which is currently installed, should work fine with the latest version of WordPress. However, we’ll need more details about the server etc.
Yes, I am thinking a EE3 license would work, i just couldn’t figure out how to purchase one. I don’t really want to upgrade at the time… really don’t need the bells and whistles. Thanks!
Hello, could you reach out to us here (select billing/account question) and we’ll help you get your account updated so you can update to the current version of Event Espresso 3:
