Hi Guys

My site, http://www.citysoiree.co.za is having Json-API related issues. See an example of error we are receiving.

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string(): No such file or directory in /home/wp_x3b44r/citysoiree.co.za/wp-content/plugins/espresso-json-api/includes/EspressoAPI_Router.class.php on line 44

I have had to apply a Coming Soon page as the issue is affecting the site severely.

When the Event Espresso Requirements Check plugin is active, it completely breaks the site, on the backend as well, resulting in me not being able to login via the backend. Deactivating it, allows me to get in on the back end, but with many errors still displaying.

We have WordPress 4.2.0 active and Event Espresso – 3.1.37.2.P active.

Please advise

Hi,

JSON Version 2.0.2.p

Deactivating the plugin appears to resolve the issue.

Can you update to the latest version of the EE3 JSON API Add-on (currently version 2.1.4.p) and see if the issue remains please?

I have upgraded.

The odd thing is that I was not aware of a new version, because on the WP plugin page, i did not receive a message indicating that there was a newer version of JSON API? All other EE plugins have consistently indicated when there was a new version for update.

See screenshot of plugin screen:

Updating the plugin has resolved the issue. Thanks so much.

Please advise why i’m not getting notifications for updating the JSON-API plugin?

Regards
Jaco

I’m not sure.

I can not see any issues with your account that would prevent updates on the JSON API. There may have been a change made to the update engine for that Add-on after 2.0.2 which needed a manual update.

As you are now running the latest version you will be using the latest update library, if you continue to have problems with no update notifications please let us know.

Additionally i’ve noted that Event Espresso Requirements Check advises that i require mysql 5.5, but that mysql 5 is active on the server.

I’ve requested that my host upgrade 5.5.

Dreamhost have responded. They are upgrading their servers to 5.6 slowly, but don’t have an ETA. IN the meantime we’ll just have to do with 5.0.

Are there any serious issues that I should be aware of?

Jaco

Hi Jaco,

No there are no serious issues you should be aware of when using MySql 5.0

The ‘requirement’ for MySQL 5.5 should be a recommendation rather than a requirement.
