Item or Description name on Payfast Payment Confirmation

Hi Guys

Please can you assist me. I seem to be having a problem on with knowing what the customers have purchased. When I used to use the decaf version, the payment confirmation from payfast used to have the name of the ticket or event in the item name. Since i have upgraded and stopped using the decaf. The new Event Espresso Core is adding numbers instead of the name of the event or name of the ticket on my payment confirmation with payfast. So we don’t know who paid for what on our bank account. Please can you assist me so that I can have the name of the event or ticket as the item name. Thanks

Hi Rhema,

Turns out the Payfast payment method was not released by ourselves so we can not provide support for it. It sounds like an issue with the payment method itself rather than core, however we can check that core is correctly configured.

Which confirmation email is this happening with?

Is it the one sent from your site or Payfast themselves?

Thank you for your swift response.

We have had a look at your website and it seems that you are using a PayNow button and not a Shopping Cart option. These buttons need to be named when you select them. So the name on the order would be the name you chose the button to be. There would be no deviation possible from the name you choose to the name that reflects.

So i dont know what to do! I assumed the plugin will work like it did on the light version before we moved to the core. We never needed a developer for this. We really not sure what to do now. Can you possibly assist us.

Sine the Payfast gateway was developed by Payfast, and they support it, they are in the best position to help.

If someone from Payfast can look into updating their gateway, we’ll be happy to work with them. The best way for them to get into contact with us if they have any questions is for them to open a github issue and one of the developers can give them guidance. They can open up a github issue here:
