Issue with PayPal Standard

We have several events that are setup to use PayPal standard as the payment gateway. You can view one event here: http://rccompetes.com/events/judges-training/

When going through the PayPal gateway and selecting not to login to an existing PayPal account, but choose to pay via credit card the payment process is requiring the cardholder to create a PayPal account in order to complete the payment.

In discussing this with PayPal they informed me that this should not be occurring and is being caused from the code within Event Espresso. Can you please tell me how to eliminate this from happening?

Hi Jeff,

Event Espresso does not send a parameter that specifies that using a PayPal.com account is required.

If your guests have an existing PayPal account and PayPal detects that, then they will nudge them to use their existing account.

Do you have guest checkout enabled?

Thanks! Found out that the client had not confirmed their email address so we couldn’t activate guest checkout.
